Mike is like the “cool uncle” of the creative family. We all have that one uncle with the unbelievable tales of adventure and the best advice for scoring chicks or winning fights. As the founder and CEO of The BrandsRock Group, a strategic marketing company, Mike is exactly that for brands. Specialising in brand strategy and creative brand solutions, he basically tells brands how to be awesome.

He has over 20 years experience working across various industries as vice president of marketing Levi Strauss and Co, Europe, Middle East and Africa; managing director of Levi Strauss and Co. South Africa; marketing director of Diageo SA; strategic marketing director at Ogilvy & Mather RSTM and marketing development director for Computicket.

He currently serves as a board director of the KWV, chairperson of Society For Family Health, trustee of the Fetola Foundation and board director of the Cape Town Fashion Council. He has also served as an executive trustee and past chairperson of Project Literacy and has served on the boards of the Levi Strauss Foundation based in San Francisco, the Treatment Action Campaign’s HIV/ AIDS Treatment Project and the Marketing Federation of South Africa as past chairperson of the Western Cape.

In 2006 he was awarded “South African Marketing Person of the Year” at the Sunday Times/Markinor Marketing Excellence Awards. Mike has a passion for South African music and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. And, boom! Bob’s Mike’s your uncle.
