It is said that if you stare long enough into this guy’s eyes, you can see the next idea for the best party the capital has ever seen. For him, the act of turning anything into a party comes as naturally as disliking Miley Cyrus.
Johan Auriacombe is a musician, promoter, organiser, problem solver and beer enthusiast. Which is great, seeing that his CV needs those qualities: He has been an active band member of kidofdoom since 2006. In 2009, together with Dominique Gawlowski, GRIET Artist Management and Event Design was founded and has been responsible for some of the sickest parties all over the country. GRIET has spoiled the South African electro music scene rotten with events that have featured some top international acts, like Cyberpunkers, Belzebass, Dead Cat Bounce and Gtronic. Locally, they work with artists Haezer, Lark, Double Adapter, kidofdoom and Yesterday’s Pupil. This year, Johan co-founded Capital Craft, where he is the festival director of Pretoria’s very own Beer Festival.
Behind the decks he’s known as Moe Joe, and he was once overheard saying, “I can juggle three balls, while drumming, and frying bacon.” We told you he could turn anything into a party. Any. Thing.
