Back when Pretoria’s Tings and Times were still throwing epic nights out in early 2011, FluxMedia have been providing interpretive visual content for local and international bands and DJ’s.Born on the West Coast and gradually making her way up to Pretoria, Karen Pienaar is the spearhead of the operation and started out the small business with a couple of band friends who were looking to break into the music scene in South Africa.Apart from lecturing Visual Communication and Digital Imaging at Vega Pretoria for the past five years, Karen’s hobbyist talents range from audiovisualist and live performer, to gardener and cat-lover.At her 2012 Klein Teater production, Karen was able to provide the band, SON with extraordinary pseudo-narrative visual effects that left their audiences with melted faces and bruised eardrums,  and have since been active at a number of promotional events including Red Bull Mobile, Converse and Adidas.Lately, with two theater shows under her belt and offering local music festivals such as Oppikoppi Bewilderbeast a chance to see some enchanting visual mixing, FluxMedia is steadily cruising the music scene delivering live interpretive visuals for a vibrant and ever-growing music community.
