AWARD WINNING INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER

Sibs is a very, very talented man. The scope of his work will take more than the 200 word limit, so we’ll keep it short.

Based in Johannesburg, he immersed himself in all the arts, from writing and visual arts, to photography, music and filmmaking. After school, he entered the post-production world of South African film and television industry. Not settling for stitching together others’ film, he decided to embark on his own mission. The following year, at the tender age of 19 his directorial career took fleet. We’re skipping a few good things here to get to the really great parts.

In 2012, Sibs won “Best International Narrative Short Film” at the Mosaic World Film Festival in Illinois, USA with his debut “Death Of Tropics,” which he wrote, directed, edited and scored without any money from the industry. You might want to read that last sentence again. And then high-five Sibs with your mind. He has showcased his photography at many a famed gallery and even curated a few of those things. He is currently busy with his first independent feature film and he still has time for a chat. To think, this is just a quarter of his CV.
